Halifax, NS – 10 August 2007 – DHX Media Ltd. (AIM & TSX ticker: “DHX”), a leading independent international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, has completed a licensing sale of 254, 30-minute episodes of the hit Canadian comedy show, This Hour Has 22 Minutes. This sale to The Comedy Network of Canada is for exclusive specialty television broadcast and non-exclusive broadband rights for Canada for approximately three years. Also under the agreement, DHX Media grants the same rights for all new seasons of the show that may be produced. This is the first licensing deal of the properties acquired in December and provides further evidence of DHX Media’s ability to exploit rights across multiple platforms by leveraging its existing distribution capabilities.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes is recognized as Canada’s longest running independently produced comedy series, with 25 Gemini Awards to its credit. The series, originally produced for the CBC, provides a weekly half-hour of political satire and garners an audience of one million viewers per week. Now entering its 15th season with over 290 episodes produced and broadcast to date, this property continues to provide an important source of, and serves as an incubator for, comedic talent.
