DHX MEDIA LICENSES OVER 75 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING TO BBC KIDS IN CANADA

HALIFAX, July 6, 2011 /CNW/ – DHX Media (Toronto:DHX.TO), a leading international producer and distributor of mainly children’s television programming and interactive content, is pleased to announce that the company has signed a package deal for licenses to four TV series with BBC Kids in Canada. The channel, now operated by Knowledge Network, has acquired over 75 hours of animation and live-action factual programming from the DHX Media library including animated series Olliver’s AdventuresD’Myna Leagues, What About Mimi? and Yakkity Yak alongside the factual show Be the Creature.

Craig McGillivray, Territory Manager at DHX Media said: “Alongside interest in our new programming, we are seeing a considerable demand in the marketplace for package deals from our library, as highlighted by this sale to BBC Kids. The channel has committed to a significant number of programming hours from our extensive catalogue of established content.”
